Horizontal and vertical laminar flow hoods — ISO 5
Laminar flow hoods protect the product being handled by means of a unidirectional airflow filtered through an absolute filter, providing an ISO 5 work zone as defined by ISO 14644. They do not protect the operator: for that, safety cabinets or negative-pressure stations are required.
The first choice concerns airflow direction. In horizontal flow, air sweeps the work area from the back towards the operator: product protection is excellent, but everything handled is carried towards the face. In vertical flow, air descends from the cabinet ceiling and spreads sideways, which is preferable as soon as the operation releases anything.
Structure comes next. Coplast, an ultra-clean smooth expanded PVC, makes cleaning and decontamination straightforward and allows cleanroom installation. Glazed-chamber models offer better visibility and a more presentable appearance in visited areas.
All our cabinets feature automatic ECM control, which compensates for the progressive clogging of the filter and maintains constant airflow throughout its life.
