Negative-pressure weighing stations and dispensing booths
Weighing a powder is one of the most exposing operations in a laboratory. The product is light, it lifts at the slightest air movement, and it is precisely the operator leaning over the balance who stands in the path of the emission.
Our negative-pressure stations address this risk through extraction and absolute filtration that carry particles away from the face. Extraction may be horizontal — POWDERJET, PROTEC I and II — or vertical, with the IV GEL SPACE EX. The choice depends on the geometry of the station and the operator's movements.
One difficulty specific to weighing deserves mention: airflow disturbs the balance. This is why the PPS can be fitted with a granite slab, which decouples the balance from fan vibration and makes weighing to 0.01 mg possible under airflow.
For allergenic powders, antibiotics and hormones, the PS(X)/EQL weighing booth provides triple protection through combined recirculation and extraction, with a Bag-in Bag-out system.
