Microbiological safety cabinets protect the operator, the product and the environment from airborne contamination. Our entire range complies with EN 12469, which sets the performance criteria applicable to safety cabinets.
The choice starts with the type. A Class I cabinet protects the operator and the environment, but not the product: airflow is inward, with no laminar downflow over the work area. A Class II cabinet adds product protection through a filtered laminar downflow. Cell culture and pharmaceutical compounding require Class II.
Containment is the next question. For non-decontaminable CMR products and cytotoxics, filter replacement requires a Bag in Bag out system, which prevents any exposure of the technician. Our CYTO-PURE and PPS models are so equipped.
Our cabinets are laboratory tested before delivery — velocity, airflow, particle count, tightness, illuminance, noise level — and supplied with full traceability.
